I am the Operations Manager of the Information Architecture Institute, currently working on leading a team of developers in the redesign of the iainstitute.org website. The design at left was launched in late April 2007. Translated sites in several languages are currently in production.

Avian Tree of Life, American Museum of Natural History (2004-2006)

The Department of Ornithology
is
participating in the National Science Foundation's Assembling the Tree
of Life Initiative. This site is devoted to the Avian tree.

The Department of Ornithology at the
American Museum of Natural History maintains a research website,
including description and images from recent expeditions. I am working
with Paul Sweet, Collections Manager, on developing a slide show of the
2000 expedition to Mount Tay Cohn Lihn in Ha Giang Province, Vietnam.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (1998-2002)
Web site technical and content review and editing, operations support, site metrics reporting, webmaster mail processing, policies and procedures documentation, technical process documentation
I created and tested web pages generated via
Lotus Notes databases for the company's global web site. I documented
the process, errors, etc. and made corrections as needed. I worked with
designers, editors and agent script writers to ensure optimal
performance. In addition, I managed site metrics, including lead
tracking via the Contact Us form, search log analysis and server
performance reporting.

GISMO is a New York City geographic
information systems users group, which sponsors monthly programs for
new and experienced users. The web site is a combination of GIS
resources and outreach.
MacCrate Associates Ltd. (1999-2001)
All aspects of site development including strategy, information design, graphic design, user interface, HTML editing, javascript, technical development, and site maintenance.
MacCrate Associates is a real estate and
financial advisory services firm, working in the New York City, metro
and Tri-State region. (Jim MacCrate accepted a political appointment on
Long Island and has pulled his website for the time being. The link
will open a screenshot of the site.)
World Music Institute (1999)

The World Music Institute promotes music and
dance events and performers worldwide. I was involved with registering
the site with various popular search engines as well as other listing
services related to the arts, and additional web site promotion
strategies.
Communication For Change Demo Site (1999)
Information design, content development, javascript, HTML editing.
Communication For Change provides training in
participatory communication via video technology to NPOs in developing
countries. This site was developed to demonstrate how C4C can use the
internet to communicate its mission.
Columbia University Sailing Team (1999)
Information design consulting.
I am offering web design guidance to the
Columbia University Sailing Team, including appropriate content and
layout. A graphic redesign is in process.

I am the web designer for the Friends of
Columbia Sailing, an alumni association at Columbia University.
Italy-America Chamber of Commerce (1998)

The Italy-America Chamber of Commerce offers
business services to U.S. companies seeking trade opportunities in
Italy. I registered the site with the top search engines, and consulted
on effective strategies related to listing a site developed with frames.
The Counselors of Real Estate (1998, 2000, 2001)

The Counselors of Real Estate is a membership
organization for real estate consultants, appraisers and advisors. This
is their home site, which includes published articles, conference
agendas and proceedings and other items of interest to its members.
ARChive of Contemporary Music (1997)

The ARChive is a collection of popular music
recordings of all genres, spanning nearly one hundred years of recorded
music. We are redeveloping this site, which is currently difficult to
navigate and over-engineered. The ARChive is a pro bono client of

Virtuous Reality Interactive, Inc. is a
non-profit organization providing new media services to charities for
free. This dynamic web site showcases current projects, member bios,
client descriptions, an events calendar, workshop materials and
discussion.
Lakota Teaching Project (1995-1996)

The Lakota Teaching Project is an
internet-based educational curicullum developed for Lakota Sioux Middle
School Students. The site explores various aspects of Lakota Sioux
family and tradition.
Web Tutorial (1996)
Research, content development, navigation, instructional design, HTML editing
This HTML tutorial was developed for the
Lakota Teaching Project to teach Middle School Students how to create
their own home page on the web. I also had an opportunity to provide
on-site instruction to groups of 11-14 year old students in Rapid City,
SD and at the Pine Ridge Reservation in Kyle, SD. This supplement to
the Lakota Teaching Project was my first complete HTML project.
